What is TEAS V®?
The TEAS V®, which is published by ATI, replaces the COMPASS reading test in
calculating points for admission into the RN and PN Programs. Students applying
for admission to the Nursing Program for
Fall 2011 are required to take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS V®).
The TEAS V® is a multiple-choice assessment of basic academic knowledge in
reading, mathematics, science, and English and language usage. Each of the four
sections is timed, for a total of 209 minutes. Content and sub-content areas are
divided in the following manner: |

How can I prepare for the TEAS V®?
The TEAS V® is a crucial component of your nursing application. Therefore, you
should prepare thoroughly for the exam. We strongly encourage applicants to
utilize a combination of the study guide and the on-line practice assessment,
which is only available through the publisher’s website. Listed below are sites

How do I register to take the TEAS V®?
To take the TEAS V®, you will need to set up an account with ATI. Instructions:
1. Go to
www.atitesting.com
2. Click on the “Create an account” button, located below the password field in
the Secure Sign-on area.
3. Once the account is created, choose NACC’s testing location and register for
a testing date.
All specific testing instructions are located on the ATI website.

NACC Testing Dates
All testing sessions are on Wednesday and may last up to four (4) hours.
Please arrive for check-in with an official picture ID at least 30 minutes prior
to the testing time
Can I take the TEAS V® more than one time?
You may take the TEAS V® twice during an academic year, which runs from
September to June.
You must wait at least six (6) weeks between taking each test.

How are the results of the TEAS V® used?
All students considering admission to the nursing program must take the TEAS V®
nursing entrance exam prior to the application deadline (June 1 for RN
and PN students, November 1 for LPN Mobility students). Points will
be awarded according to "Selection of Applicants" shown in the table below,
which is also printed on page 84 of the
NACC Catalog.
